Jump course

Chalk or rope shapes on the ground to hop, leap and two-foot jump along.

You need

Steps

  1. Draw or lay out a path on flat ground: circles, squares, lines and a wavy rope.
  2. Show each move: hop in the circles, leap over the lines, jump two-footed into the squares.
  3. Let each child run the course in turn, then swap the order of the shapes.
  4. Call out a new move for each shape, or time a lap if they want a challenge.

Play on flat, dry ground clear of obstacles, with one child on the course at a time.

Next time, don’t search — shake Snowlan.
