Countdown paper chain
A paper chain that counts down to a big day: a holiday, a birthday, a trip or a visit.
You need
- colored paper
- scissors, for the adult
- a glue stick or tape
- crayons or pens
Steps
- Choose the day to count down to, and count the days left.
- Cut one strip of paper for each day left. More than 31 days? Cut one strip for each week.
- Let the children draw or write on each strip.
- Loop each strip through the last one and glue it into a ring.
- Hang up the chain, and take off one link each day, or each week.
Only the adult uses the scissors when under-fives are around.
