Walk in the park

A slow walk to the park, stopping for whatever the children notice.

Steps

  1. Pick a park you can walk to and a loop of 1 to 2 km.
  2. Let the children choose the path at each fork.
  3. Stop whenever someone spots something: a dog, a duck, a big leaf.
  4. Let each child keep one fallen treasure, like a pine cone or a pebble.
  5. Walk back the same way and ask who remembers the landmarks.

Hold hands when crossing roads on the way, and agree on a meeting spot in case anyone gets lost.

Next time, don’t search — shake Snowlan.
