Walk under an umbrella
A slow walk in the rain, each under an umbrella, listening and looking.
You need
- a small umbrella per person
- rain boots
- a raincoat
Steps
- Give each child an umbrella small enough to hold alone.
- Walk a short loop around the block.
- Stop under a tree and listen to the rain on your umbrellas.
- Look for three things the rain changes: shiny roads, dripping leaves, worms.
- Open the umbrellas to dry when you get home.
Umbrellas block the view: hold hands to cross roads, and keep the tips down near faces.
